2023 Lacoma Classic

Beautiful day for some junior golf at Lacoma Golf Club for the Lacoma Classic! All age divisions played the Red Course and the older divisions played the Gold Course for their second set of nine holes.

Participants expressed all the emotions throughout their rounds today. Some frustrating shots followed by laughs and putt making fist pumps! Lots of highs and lows, but hey that's the game of golf!

In the boys 16-17 age division Charlie Becker finishes in first place with a 72. “I had a lot of confidence today. I told myself every putt was going in and every shot was going where I wanted it.” Thomas Hereau took second place with a 74 and Jackson Skrtich and Tyler Skrtich both shot 80. Jackson won the playoff to take the third place plaque.

For the boys 14-15 age division, Cole Herbst won the division with a 72. “My goal was to just play for the center of the greens and if I missed, my wedges were really good.” Ben Thill followed in second place with an 89 and Ethan Schulting took third place with a 101.

Brooklyn Bussan won the girls 14-15 age division with a score of 108. “Talking with people in my group kept me occupied and kept my mind off of golf and allowed me to have fun.”

In the boys 12-13 age division Reid Herrig shot 39 and won the tough battle between him and Cooper Smith who ended with a 40. “My lag putting helped me secure the win. I left myself with tap in’s to make it easier,” Herrig said.

For the girls 12-13 age division Landry Rauen took home the win after shooting a 50. “I was telling myself, one hole at a time and to try my best on every hole.” Lucy Davis took second place with a 62 and Ella Schulte finished in third with a 67.

Beau Reed won the boys 10-11 age division with a score of 41. “The best part of my game was my chipping and putting. Some putts weren’t the best, but a lot were.” Michael Hamilton shot a 45 for a second place finish and Jack Ludovissy and Greyson Haddox shot a 49 for third place. Ludovissy won the cardback playoff to take home the third place plaque.
